The Homestead Foundation assisted in funding The Ensign Singers' 2024 Advent/Christmas concert, "Savior of the Nations, Come".
The 65-minute program included motets by Anton Bruckner, favorite carols including "O Come, All Ye Faithful" and "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming," and a 300th anniversary performance of J.S. Bach's Advent cantata "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland," which was first performed on the first Sunday of Advent in 1724.
A group of 38 singers participated in structured rehearsals that always included prayer, devotional messages and scripture discussions. The Ensign Singers made an intentional effort to learn each other's names, and designated section leaders cared for each choir member, such as by reaching out to those who missed rehearsals.
